How do I create a color chart and make new colors??? A long time ago I made this exercise, the idea is learn to mix colors and create new colors with a basic set of paints. You can use watercolors, acrylics, oil paints or inks but in my case I used Gouache because I was trying to play with this medium! I found a good set of paints Royal and Lanickel are water base Gouache (can get dry so you can add water again if needed) theres also acrylic gouache.

What do you need???
- Paints watercolors, goauche etc......tubes or pans.
- Watercolor Paper work good for goauche.
- Brushes and water.

Now gather your watercolors & count them, in my case I used 10 colors (black and white are not shown in the chart) In an A4 page make out a grid 10 by 10 and then paint the first vertical and the first horizontal Lemon Yellow and mix when they intersect, like the photo shown above and start mixing. Mix each watercolor with one other watercolor.  Plot that mixture on your chart. Rinse your brush, repeat with one other color.

There you have it!!!!! the last photo shows the colors I chose and also I made another with black and white titanium!!! Made a total of 42 colors of 12 goauche tubes!!! That's not wonderful?????

Como crear una carta de color y crear nuevos colores! Hace mucho tiempo no hago este ejercicio, la idea es aprender a crear nuevas mezclas y hacer pruebas de color con tus pinturas. Puedes usar acuarelas, acrílicos, oleos, tinta en mi caso usé goauche porque nunca he pintado con gouache y he estado investigando nuevos medios para pintar! Y solo tenia 10 colores de gouache más blanco titanium y negro.

Lo que necesitas es:
- Pinturas acuarelas, gouache etc.. en tubos o pans use Royal & Lanickel gouache al agua
- Buen papel para el medio que quieres pintar, use papel para acuarela con gouache
- Pinceles y mucha agua.

Ahora contemos las pinturas en mi caso use solo 10 colores (blanco y negro los hize aparte) en la hoja A4 tienes que hacer una cuadrícula correspondiente a la cantidad de colores oséa en mi caso 10 x 10. Una vez que dibujas en el papel pintas en el primer recuadro vertical y horizontal amarillo limón, haciendo la mezcla donde hacen intersección, como muestra la foto con los nombres. No olvides enjuagar tu pincel en cada mezcla para que los colores no se ensucien.

Y ahi esta tu carta de colores! ahora en la última foto seleccione los colores que no se repiten y las que hize con negro y blanco; hize un total de 42 colores en mi paleta usando solo 12 tubos de goauche! Maravillosoooo!! no necesitas comprar todos los colores!!
